My Whole New World

Disclaimer: While I am a Cast Member at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, the following is based solely on my own experience and does not necessarily reflect the policies of The Walt Disney Company.

Hey, remember when I said I had some REALLY EXCITING UPDATES TO SHARE WITH Y’ALL (like a few months ago lol #oops)???

Well, I figured it’s about time I shared some updates on my current Disney College Program internship.

nametagcastleSo, I’m currently an intern at the Disneyland Resort, through the DCP Spring 2018 season.

Basically, I get to work at Disneyland (UMM, YES) from January until August, when my program will end and I [hopefully] get the option to extend as a regular Cast Member.

[insert flames/fireworks here]

I know that most of you reading this already knew about my acceptance into the program. I accepted my offer back in September of 2017, a month after submitting my application for the program and completing a web interview, and about three weeks after my initial phone interview.

Okay, so let me back-track really quick. Some of y’all probably have some questions to ask, like “What the heck is the Disney College program???” Definitely an understandable question. So, I’ll answer it.

The Disney College Program is a program offered by Disney (wow, what an amazing explanation) to current [or recently graduated] college students. Basically, it’s a paid internship in which participants get to work either at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or the Disneyland Resort in California, and can receive college credits while doing so. So, essentially ALL OF MY DREAMS COME TRUE.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before (probably not, I’m really bad at the whole “keeping up with things” and all) but I kinda-sorta have a slight OBSESSION WITH DISNEY. Just a little. I mean, it’s not like I have the soundtracks on my phone or a ton of Minnie Mouse ears or can quote a good majority of the script to Tangled by heart or anything — no, not at all.

ANYWAYS~

As of last week, I have officially gone through two months in the program and I still can’t fully grasp how time is really flying by. I’ve met so many amazing people and have been doing my best to network through it all.

I’ll do my best to talk more about my program as I continue through it and eventually finish it out in the upcoming months.
